Storyline Edit. Add content advisory. Did you know Edit. User reviews 4 Review. Top review. Highly Recommended for Struggling Business and Students! I would highly recommend using this show as a teaching tool for students who plan to enter the highly competitive field of hairstyling.
Tabatha Coffey deserves an Australian medal for her services. Not only is she frank but she's candid, truthful, and doesn't hold back. She's a reality check for a lot of salons.
I was watching her in the New Jersey and Long Island salons. She grows on you after awhile. In the beginning, she's hard and rough with the struggling salons. She notices their flaws and doesn't mind telling them. I would never have imagined her as suburbanite. Maybe that's why she's so tough but not all of it, New Jersey can harden the soul but this business can break the toughest as well. I would recommend this series to cosmetology teachers and students as a must-watch event for classroom discussion.
Sylviastel Feb 26, Details Edit. Release date August 21, United States. United States. Pablo Hernandez, the 21 year-old owner, bit off more than he could chew when he bought the business. His youth and inexperience are obvious as the staff steamrolls over him and refuses to respect his authority. Tabatha teaches Hernandez to stop acting like the maid and start acting like the boss.
If Hernandez doesn't step up and demand that his staff act more professionally, then Allure Salon might have to close its doors for good. When Jacqui Montero started Eclectic salon ten years ago it was the best multi-cultural salon in Los Angeles. But in recent years, she has lost control of her staff and lost the passion for her business.
Darren Anselmo runs wild in his own salon, acting more like a hyperactive child than a responsible owner. His inappropriate remarks to clients have hurt business and now his staff is completely fed up with his antics and ready to walk out. If Anselmo loses a single stylist he may be forced to shut down. Tabatha needs to help him grow up, clean up his act, and take responsibility for his business. When Kimmie Blackhall convinced her husband to open Plush Salon with their life savings and pay the rent on his credit cards, she neglected to tell him one thing: she was going to spend all the money she made behind the chair at the mall.
Now with debt mounting and business declining, Blackhall seems more focused on spending money than saving her failing salon. Tabatha is shocked to discover that Plush runs more like a sorority than a business and Blackhall treats her stylists more like girlfriends than staff.
To cure Blackhall of her shopping addiction, Tabatha has to make a serious intervention and give the entire staff the wakeup call they need.
When Nikki Mallon and her husband opened Brownes and Co. Over the years, Mallon has grown frustrated with her staff and runs her salon remotely, watching their every move from home on surveillance cameras. On the rare occasions when she is in the salon, her staff is terrified of her wrath. The oppressive atmosphere has killed staff morale and driven away customers. Candolyn Sabido has owned Candolyn's Salon for ten years but she has fallen on hard times.
Candolyn thinks her stylists are liars and thieves and they think Candolyn is crazy. She is losing control of her staff, losing customers from her business, and losing hope fast. If she and her staff don't get on the same page soon, Candolyn will go out of business and be left with nothing. Description At first meeting, the owners and stylists find Coffey's distinct personality and wicked comments jarring, but they soon figure out that in order to be a success in the competitive high-end beauty business, they need to take the savvy and fearless approach that has helped Coffey's own career flourish.
